My Trip Back to Fit: Follow My Weight Loss Journey
Here we are
Journal entry 1.1
I’m standing in front of the mirror- just standing there stuck. How did I let this happen? How could you do this to yourself and then complain about it? Here it is, dead smack in the middle of summer 2017; beach season, where skin and body parts are on display, and you are stuck with this extra 20lb weight gain. Bravo loser!
My Trip Back to Fit
The past few months I have put on some weight.
Maybe I should say a lot of weight to keep it real with you guys.
It all started with me deciding to work from home, and one day I didn’t feel like cooking, and über eats swooped in to save the day (or not.)
1 day turned into 2, and before I knew it I was eating out at least 3-4 times a week!
Yikes, I know!
With all the eating-out and my usual gym routine taking a back burner, it was pretty easy for me to pack on the 20 pounds
Yes, 20 pounds in about 45 days is what happened, and when I finally decided to weigh myself, I was shocked that the excessive weight gain went unnoticed.
Now, 20 pounds might not sound like a lot to some, and some people still consider me to be a decent build.
But for me, 20 pounds is too much.
I love a little jiggle on a significant other, but just not on me.
Back to Reality
So here I am, back on my weight loss mission, that is not alien to me.
I know all the necessary steps that I need to take to get back to where I want to be.
My plan of attack is mapped out, my macros are calculated, and I’m ready to go into battle.
Journal entry 1.2
Today, while accompanied by my beautiful friend Sasha, I went on my first run of the summer. My sabbatical from the gym life lasted about 3 months, so as you can guess, I was very out of shape. My breaths were wild, my feet could not keep up, and a lot of breaks had to happen. But I stuck with it!
Ahh, push it, push it real good!
That my friends, is the most important lesson! Do what you can and stop thinking about what you cannot do. This way of thinking will sabotage any future success and you will end up doing nothing, and that is unacceptable.
If you need to stop and clutch your knees for a second, do it. If you must walk the rest of the trail, then guess what? Do it! Document what was hard for you and try to do better on the next go.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. – most overly used saying ever!
No one is great on their first try at things. You keep going, learn from your mistakes, then you perfect it over time.
This week I want to focus on running. I have never been a fan of it, so I want to perfect it. I plan to run 4 days this week and no more than 30 minutes each. I will throw in 3 weight lifting sessions in there to keep those muscle gains!
If you want to keep up with my “Trip Back to Fit” then just check back in with the blog where I will post pics and updates of my journey. I will document the workouts that I do and I will try my hardest to give you some of the meals I eat. Most of the meals I cook is from experience so I will try to write them down for my readers.
Check me out on social media! I am always posting pics of the food I eat, plus some extra tips!
